Citysearch, Orangesoda Jv To Offer Local Seo
Local online media site Citysearch and SEO provider OrangeSoda are partnering to provide a marketing tool that marries their respective strengths.
The new product, CityGrid Complete, is an extension of City Grid – an online ad network focused on local content that launched in January. “Every search engine has introduced local directory listings prominently in their organic search results and this has given small businesses another way to get featured in the search engine results real estate,” said Jay Bean, CEO of OrangeSoda.
Stepping Up
The move is part of a more aggressive effort by Citysearch to attract more ad dollars from local businesses, according to PaidContent.org. In an interview with paidContent, Neil Salvage, Citysearchs EVP of advertising said the company decided to find a partner to improve its search engine optimization efforts as many local advertisers dont understand the pay-per-click process very well.
“OrangeSoda can help us hold the hands of some advertisers who need the extra guidance.”
Salvage also sees OrangeSoda’s SEO offerings as a way to link the business owner’s web site to its Citysearch profile, as Google continues to build out Google Maps and personalize search. (via Mediapost)
OrangeSoda also has a white label reseller platform, which Citysearch plans to use of to target advertisers in areas where its own sales force doesnt reach, PaidContent said.
