If Content Is King, How Should It Rule For Seo Companies | The
Content is plebeian without research.
Mr. William Shakespeareyou may have heard of himonce wrote Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.
What he meant by this was that much responsibility comes with the title of king, and sometimes that responsibility is too much. I mean, just look at King Hamlet: hes a ghost now.
On the other hand, Mel Brooks made clear in History of the World Part I that Its good to be the king.
So if the mantra of SEO companies is Content is King, how can you make sure it remains the latter and not the former?
Well, to continue our extended metaphor, follow the advice of Marie Antoinette and let them eat cake. And by that, we mean spoon-feed it. Everyone has contentit is bread. And you need to make yours cake.
But how?
Research. Research. Research. (Plus images and videos).
Research
Personally, I spend 80 percent of my time on a piece researching it. Once you know how to write for the Web and understand the end-game of creating content, the writing will come fairly quickly.
On the Internet, your writing skills are not what will separate your from the pack. That might be a hard fact for writers to swallow, but its true. What matters online is how researched your writing is. Remember, whatever topic you are writing about, there are probably hundreds of others writing about that same topic.
Your post must have the most useful information.
Remember, it all goes back to the why. Why will a reader read your post? What is there to gain from it?
All the fancy writing tricks in the world cannot do anything to replace good research. If a reader cant practically use your post, then he wont be a reader any longer.
Design
In addition, it is good to present your research in easy-to-digest formats. Images and videos should be included wherever appropriate. Even if an image or video is more for entertainments sake than educations sake, if it ties into the post then it should be included.
Because, in the end, this is competitive writing. You have many people attacking the same subjects, all wanting to be the most read. So take some time with your posts, do your research and design them beautifully. Otherwise, why did you write it?
Uneasy as the head that wears the crown may be, sometimes its good to be the king.
SEO companies know this, so turn your drab blog posts into informative posts worthy of The New Yorker or The New York Times.
Just because your post is online doesnt mean it should suffer from less quality.
