New Biking Directions Unveiled On Google Maps

Google has announced that it has now added biking directions and an “extensive” amount of bike trail data to its US Maps service.

New Biking Directions Unveiled on Google Maps Making the announcement on its official blog, the organisation explained that it has been collating user-generated material to compile the tool and was keen to ensure that it provided the best service possible.

People can now access efficient routes and well as customising their journey to include cycle lanes or avoid obstacles such as large hills.

More than 12,000 miles of trails are included in the directions and these have been outlined on the maps with help from the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.

“To find biking directions, select Bicycling from the drop-down menu when you do a directions search,” the SEO services firm advised.

Last week, Google announced the introduction of a new star search feature that allows users to mark their favourite web content.

This will then appear at the top of every results page when they perform a relevant search.
